Hey man, what's up. So this might be the first time someone's being completely honest with you, so here goes. Your music is not that great. Don't get me wrong, you have the potential to be extremely successful (money-wise) and garner lots of fans, but that's because most of them will be teeny-boppers dealing with teenage angst. Your music, at least on a critical/intellectual level, falls short in almost all aspects. Your voice is too affected (in case you don't understand that means it sounds forced aka you try too hard) where other artists, artists that you deride in previous posts, make their songs sound effortless. Your songs sound like they take effort. That's the reason major labels are rejecting you right now. You just don't have what it takes at the present moment. This is compounded by the fact that you're really not that smart. I know you think you are, and you think you're some kind of visionary, and you think your documentary "film" will hit it big in festivals or whatever. I can guarantee you right now that you will not make it into any festivals whatsoever. I guarantee. Think what you want, but when the time comes, you'll realize that I was right. You might "make it" on some kind of superficial level. You might get your 15 minutes of fame. But probably not. You're like a watered down Jason Mraz, but with much less talent (and Jason Mraz isn't even good). I know you're reading this thinking "Wow, Jason Mraz IS good, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about." Well, ignore me then, and let's see where your career is headed. I laugh at the prospect of you coming even close to reaching Top 40 (as if that's any indicator of how good someone's music is, ha). Just to clarify, just because a lot of people like your music, doesn't mean it's good. It only means that a lot of people have bad taste (which is true in the mainstream). I like you as a person, don't get me wrong. I read through your blog posts and it's really hard to dislike you because you're actually a good dude. You seem nice and sincere, but your arrogance about your creative abilities is misplaced. If this reads like a hater comment, then I don't mean it that way and I'm sorry. I want you to succeed by all means. Your failure doesn't benefit me, and it's not like I'm gonna get shits and giggles out of watching you become nothing. I want you to succeed, because it would be a dick of me not to. Get that paper, ya know? I'm just giving you my honest opinion. Again, I think you can make it onto the radio and into teenage girls' hearts and stuff. But if you think your music can be appreciated at a level beyond that, at a critical level where intellectuals truly ENGAGE with your music, then you're wrong. At least, that's the idea that I get from your current output of songs. Maybe you'll switch your style up and become awesome, who knows. As of now, you're just an anonymous pretty-boy singer-songwriter with a huge ego that has barely enough talent to "make it." Good luck, and god bless.
