DERRICK Comedy, by far the #1 most hilarious short film makers on youtube, have finished the trailer for their debut feature film, "Mystery Team".
The main 4 guys all graduated out of NYU's film program. They all landed regular jobs, but still wanted to chase their dreams. About 2 years later they land a feature film. Awesome.
This is the latest Spike Lee joint, for those who don't know, about the all black 92nd Army Division of WWII. The movie was close to 3 hrs, and you could tell at some parts, but overall it was really good. The best part of the film was the incredible acting of the 9 year old boy, Matteo Sciabordi.
Not the greatest war movie of all time, but an interesting one.
Once again, Shia LaBeouf has picked an AWESOME movie to star in. Seriously, despite the fact that Shia and I have been close friends ever since we chatted on set of Transformers 2, this movie would have been awesome alright even if he wasn't in it. You gotta go see it. Enough said.
This TV show has potential to air in Comedy Central's 2009 lineup. The show will feature music and performances by Kanye and Rhymefest. Each episode will be hosted by a different celebrity, apparently a spin off of the original Muppets show.
The boys from the Man Show, Corolla and Kimmel are said to be working on it too.
The show will be called "Alligator Boots". Not sure how funny it will be lol but it sounds like there is a lot of star power behind it so we'll probably see it on TV soon.
I was just talking about this with my dad the other night.
"Disturbia", starring Shia Labeouf came out a little over a year ago. It was obviously heavily influenced by Hithcock's "Rear Window" from back in the day. The character is stuck in his house/apartment for some reason or another and he witnesses a murder.
Details aside, Spielberg is just now getting sued for not getting the copyright permissions before making the film. ONE YEAR LATER! Its crazy how long things like that take. I just wanted to comment on that :) Spielberg is an idiot for not getting the copyrights, by the way. You'd think someone of his status could negotiate something like that pretty quickly. I'm sure there's a pretty good reason (I hope).
I wanted to shout out Mr. Mike Hagan of Philly, an awesome actor with a lot of talent on his way up. I screened his first feature length film "One-Eyed Horse" yesterday. Hagan, playing Union officer William Curry, showcased a lot of emotion and potential in his scenes, which made up for those occasional slip-ups you can always spot out in an indie film ;) His deliveries were near perfect every time -- unfazed by multiple ...less talented cast members. The scenery was beautiful too, filmed in Maryland during the vibrant autumn season.
Overall it was a well rounded film. It's really cool (for me especially) to see how a low budget can get the creative juices flowing on set. Wish I was there!

A thriller about terrorists, that makes you think -- which is pretty cool.
